Rhinoplasty is a complex and demanding operation that requires the skill of an experienced plastic surgeon. Many of the rhinoplasty procedures that Dr. Harrell has performed in the past were for patients who had unsatisfactory results from an inexperienced surgeon. Dr. Harrell uses his exacting standards, years of experience, and artistic eye to maximize your chance of a great outcome after rhinoplasty.

The typical rhinoplasty procedure takes anywhere from 1 to 2 hours to perform. You can expect a short stay in recovery before you are allowed to go home. Most of our patients choose to undergo general anesthesia during surgery, but in certain cases, local anesthesia or sedation may also be options. After surgery, you may experience some minimal discomfort that can be controlled through prescription pain medications.

In many cases, Dr. Harrell will place a small plastic splint on your nose to maintain its shape and stability in the first week following surgery. Once the splint is removed, your nose should already look improved, despite the presence of swelling. Continued subtle changes will occur over the next 6 months as your nose assumes its final shape. Dr. Harrell will progressively follow up with you to ensure you are on the path to the best possible results.
