Nose Job in Ft. Lauderdale and MiamiTypically most rhinoplasty procedures last from 1-2 hours with a short stay in recovery before being allowed to return home. The majority of patients find a short general anesthetic to be the best choice but in selected instances a local or sedation may be appropriate. There should be minimal discomfort after the surgery but appropriate medications are prescribed to keep you comfortable.

For a comprehensive discussion about what to expect after nose job surgery, please call The Weston Center for Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery at (954) 526-0066  today. Dr. Jon Harrell is pleased to serve patients throughout the Miami area.

Nose Job Aftercare

Frequently, there will be a small plastic 'splint' placed on the nose to maintain shape and stability for the first week after surgery. When the splint is removed the nose should look good despite a modest amount of swelling. There may be a slight amount of residual bruising over the lower eyelids for up to 7-10 days following the surgery. There will be subtle changes in the appearance of the nose over the following 6 months and Dr. Harrell will continue to follow your progress to ensure the best result possible.

After the surgery, you should restrict any strenuous or aerobic activity for about two weeks after which you can do whatever feels comfortable. For those involved in contact sports or hobbies reducing the risk of accidentally striking the nose is important for about the first 4 weeks after surgery.

Why Choose Dr. Harrell for Nose Surgery?

Rhinoplasty is one of the most demanding and challenging operations most plastic surgeons perform. It is a sculptural procedure performed in '3D'. It can take a surgeon many years to master the procedure and some surgeons simply do not feel comfortable performing it. Most of the revision surgeries Dr. Harrell has had to perform in the past were due to patients not adequately assessing their surgeon's experience and skill in the surgery.

Not all surgeons are created equal, nor do they have the same level of skill or talent in every procedure. For a structure placed squarely in the center of the face you definitely want a surgeon with exacting standards and the eye of an artist who will ensure the greatest chance of a good outcome.

Dr. Harrell and his staff look forward to assisting you in your desire to look your best. Please contact us online or call (954) 526-0066  today to schedule a rhinoplasty consultation, and to learn if you are a good candidate for nose surgery.
